A 34-year-old man has been apprehended after he allegedly shot and murdering his wife in the parking area of Shoprite Supermarket in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the Police spokesperson, who asserted the incident on Friday May 7, said the shooting took place at the corner of Grobler and Landdross Mare streets on Thursday, May 6.
“The police received a call about the incident at about 14h00 and rushed to the scene. On arrival, the bullet riddle body of a 32-year-old woman was found inside a motor vehicle,” he stated.
“Preliminary police investigations revealed that the deceased, who is believed to be from Seshego Township, was together with a certain man inside the said vehicle when her husband arrived,” he added.
Mojapelo said that an argument allegedly ensued and the husband took out a firearm and shot the woman several times. She died instantly.
The man who is reported to have been together with the deceased, allegedly fled from the scene.
“Police later recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the murder. The firearm will be subjected to ballistic examination to determine if it was used in the commission of other serious crimes. Its lawfulness will also form part of the unfolding investigations. The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
“Members of the community are urged to seek professional assistance when confronted by domestic or relationship challenges and desist from resorting to extreme measures which often lead to serious injuries or the loss of life.”
The suspect will be appearing in Polokwane magistrate’s court soon, facing a charge of murder.
Meanwhile, the suspect was to have attempted suicide after killing his wife. In a video seen on social media, the man can be seen standing on the edge of a high-rise building threatening to jump off.
It was gathered that police, however, managed to restrain him.
Soldiers Successfully Stage Military Coup In Sudan, Prime Minister Arrested
Soldiers on Monday morning successfully carried out an offensive against members of the country’s caretaker government.
It was learned that Abdalla Hamdok the Sudanese Prime Minister was taken into custody by soldiers after an unknown team of soldiers raided his residence.
This new development has raised fears of yet another military coup in a country rocked by political turmoil.
According to local media reports, armed soldiers have held 5 ministers, including four military members and one civilian, of the Transitional Sovereignty Council.
Al Hadath TV reports that a media aide to Mr. Hamdok was also reportedly arrested.
This armed offensive is the latest of many to remove Hamdok, who assumed power in 2019, from power.
Sudanese Professionals Association said in a statement that citizens should take to the streets to reject any military coup.
Internet outages were also reported across the capital Khartoum on Monday and averred by web infrastructure monitors Netblocks.
“Internet disrupted in #Sudan amid reports of military coup and detention of Prime Minister; real-time network data show national connectivity at 34% of ordinary levels; incident ongoing,” the group said on its Twitter handle.
Recall that protesters loyal to the military had on Sunday blocked entrances leading to the capital.
Military and civilians have been sharing power since Omar al-Bashir was ousted in 2019, and last month’s attempted coup was summarily blamed on soldiers loyal to Bashir, who has been charged with war crimes.

“May Mama Janet squeeze your manhood dead” – Ugandan activist, Stella Nyanzi pays ‘glowing’ tribute to President Museveni on his 77th birthday
Controversial Ugandan human rights activist, Dr. Stella Nyanzi, has paid a ‘glowing’ tribute to her country’s President Yoweri Museveni, who clocked 77 today, September 15.
SEVEN VERSES FOR SEVENTY-SEVEN YEARS
1) Yoweri, as you consummate your birthday tonight,
May Mama Janet’s mouth swallow you as you kiss;
Swallow you wholly into her bottomless stomach.
How she swallows up chunks of natural resources!
Tonight she can shamelessly swallow you whole too,
Wipe clean her blood-sucking mandibles,
Praise Jesus Christ for appointing her for this role,
And go about life like nothing is wrong even now.
2) Yoweri, as you consumate your birthday tonight,
May Mama Janet’s wrinkled breasts smother you;
Smother you dead through sustained suffocation.
How she murders the futures of Ugandan children!
Tonight she can snuff out your future too,
Pull her homicidal breasts into a white satin bra,
Praise Jesus Christ for annointing her Minister of Education,
And go about life like nothing is dying even now.
3) Yoweri, as you consumate your birthday tonight,
May Mama Janet’s big thighs squeeze you to death;
Squeeze the life slowly and painfully out of you.
How she squeezes dry private and public schools!
Tonight she can squeeze your manhood dead too,
Wipe dry your old semen off her big flabby thighs,
Praise Jesus Christ for her with big thighed cows,
And go about life like nothing is choking under her
4) Yoweri, as you consumate your birthday tonight,
May Mama Janet’s smelly teeth bite off your penis;
Bite off your penis, chew and swallow it for good.
How she emasculates all the men in Uganda!
Tonight she can emasculate your violent manhood too,
Brush clean her ugly teeth with BUBU toothpaste,
Praise Jesus Christ for filling her mouth with teeth,
And go about life like she paralyses none with fear.
5) Yoweri, as you consumate your birthday tonight,
May Mama Janet’s dry genitals strangle you still;
Strangle you so tight that you cry “I can’t breathe.”
How she strangles every institution she touches!
Tonight she can strangle your dictatorial body too,
Douche well her dry flaky vagina with sanitizer,
Praise Jesus Christ for redeeming her barrenness,
And go about life like she fertilizes all she killed.
6) Yoweri, as you consumate your birthday tonight,
May Mama Janet’s blood-filled hands murder you;
Murder you like she murdered feminist aspirations.
How she murders mentorship of women by women!
Tonight she can murder your brutal militancy too,
Wash your blood off her murdering old hands,
Praise Jesus for giving her strength to eliminate evil,
And go about like we know nothing of her murders.
7) Yoweri, as you consumate your birthday tonight,
May Mama Janet’s evil heart poison your evil heart,
Poison you like she poisoned leadership with nepotism.
How she poisons ideas of leadership by merit!
Tonight she can liberate us and poison you too,
Hide the venomous poison deeper in her heart,
Praise Jesus Christ for washing her in his blood,
And go about like a holy woman beloved by God.
Deep calls to the deep, iron sharpens iron, and the shallow fools will be looking for a fresh charge sheet… Alas, I am writing myself to freedom.
Ex-Mozambique president’s son goes on trial over $2bn scandal
The son of Mozambique’s former president Ndambi Guebuza and eighteen others have gone on trial over the $2billion “tuna bonds” affair in the capital Maputo.
Ndambi Guebuza, son of former President Armando Guebuza, and the others face charges of blackmail, embezzlement, and money laundering in what has been described as Mozambique’s biggest post-independence corruption scandal.
Mr. Guebuza and ex-members of the State Information and Security Service (Sise) are among those expected to appear as defendants in the case whose hearings will run until 1 September.
The trial is being held in a large canvas tent on the grounds of a maximum-security prison in the outskirts of the capital.
The city’s courtrooms were deemed too small for the scores of lawyers, 70 witnesses, and 250 media workers who have been accredited to attend.
In the opening court session, the judge said all the accused must attend court in a prison uniform.
Between 2013 and 2014, Mozambique borrowed about $2bn but only disclosed most of the debt to the International Monetary Fund in 2016.
The money was allegedly used to buy a large tuna factory and a maritime security fleet, as well as to finance other deals involving companies in which the state is a leading shareholder.
The scandal plunged Mozambique into its worst financial crisis since independence in 1975 and also led to the suspension of budgetary aid to Mozambique by its external partners.
Former Mozambique Finance Minister Manuel Chang is also wanted over the scandal and is fighting extradition from South Africa. He contradicts any wrongdoing.

Police officer loses her 3 children, nanny in house fire
3 children and their nanny have been murdered in a house fire which was thought to have been began by a candle.
The incident occurred at a Police officer’s home in Pakawa, Nakuru, Kenya on Saturday night.
The incident was confirmed by Nakuru County Deputy Police Commander Phanton Analo, who said police officers were alerted to the incident but found the four had died.
It has since been revealed that the home, which was rented out to a police officer named Mary Wandia three days ago, did not have power.
Neighbors speculated that the family was lighting their home with a candle.
“The nanny had tried unsuccessfully to purchase electricity tokens earlier, and we believe they were using a candle, which could have started the fire,” a neighbor, Johh Mwangi, told Citizen Digital.
According to the police report, Ms Wandia was at work at the time of the incident.
The fire began at about 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to Teresia Nyokabi, a resident of Pakawa in Nakuru, where the accident took place .
Neighbors who broke down the door said they were alerted by smoke billowing from the building, but they had no idea there were people inside.
“We started seeing smoke but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from; by the time we realized the house was on fire, it was too late,” Mwangi said. “At the time, we didn’t know there were people in the house.”
It wasn’t until the fire trucks arrived—an hour later—that they found four bodies inside the house.
