Old tweets of an ex-Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode saying he will rather die than join the All Progressives Congress which he described as “Almajiri Peoples Congress”, have emerged just after it was made known that he has joined the ruling party.
FFK who was reacting to reports of joining the APC in the tweets shared two years ago also described the ruling party as a filthy, rat-infested sinking ship.

National Convention: Only PDP Can Rescue Nigeria From Catastrophe Brought By APC – Seyi Makinde
The Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has said it is only the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that can save Nigeria from the current catastrophe being experienced under President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
Bennievibez understands that Makinde revealed this while affirming that PDP’s national convention will hold as earlier scheduled.
The opposition party National Convention Organising Committee had announced earlier that its convention will hold between 30-31.
A faction of the party stood as opposition after it instituted a case at the Kaduna High Court in an attempt to prevent the convention on the scheduled dates.
However, in a statement titled, “Statement by the PDP National Convention Organising Committee Regarding the Case Instituted at the High Court in Kaduna to Prevent the PDP from Holding its National Convention on October 30 and 31, 2021,” Governor Makinde who doubles as the Chairman of the Committee maintained that the convention will hold as scheduled in spite of the threats.
Makinde said the committee was alerting “members of our party and members of the public that we are aware of the actions of a few misguided PDP members who have approached the High Court in Kaduna in an attempt to prevent our great party, the PDP from holding its National Convention on October 30 and 31, 2021.
“Notwithstanding their right to approach a court of competent jurisdiction to air their grievances, we maintain that the National Executive Committee of the PDP has acted in good faith in fixing our convention for October 30 and 31. It is not meant to witch-hunt anyone or to truncate anyone’s mandate.”
The Oyo State governor charged the party faithful to ignore distractions and keep the focus on the progress of the party.
The statement further read, “Therefore, we call on all members and supporters of the PDP to ignore this distraction as we prepare to host a convention that will send a clear signal to Nigerians that the PDP is the only party that has the will and the might to rescue Nigeria from the catastrophe that we have been enduring for the past six years.
“We are aware that a united PDP is a threat to the forces that seek to divide us. Therefore, we urge our teeming supporters nationwide to keep the faith as we are taking all necessary measures to ensure that we will not be distracted from our goal.”
The committee, he said, was determined to strengthen the party structure and put in the work needed to unify and restore Nigeria on the path to economic prosperity and greatness.
5,000 APC Members Defect To PDP In Cross River
The All Progressive Congress, APC, has lost more than five thousand members to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River.
Bennievibez understands that the new defectors were given a welcoming party on Sunday at the Government Technical College playground in Ogoja.
PDP got the huge followership to double its grand reception for Jarigbe Agom, the Senator representing Cross River North.
Speaking at the event, Venatius Ikem, PDP Chairman, said the return of the ex-members and entry of new ones will boost the party’s chances ahead of future elections.
The returnees and the new members were from Ogoja Yala, Obanliku, Obudu, and Bekwara, Bennievibez understands.
They included former Special Adviser to former Governor Liyel Imoke on Budget, Dr. Peter Oti.
Ikem said: “Since the time of former Senate President, Joseph Ways, Cross River North never witnessed this number of crowd.
“I say with confidence that Cross River North has never produced a Senator as popular as Jarigbe Agom.”
It could be recalled that Senate President Ahmad Lawan had named Agom Vice Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs, a fortnight ago.
The lawmaker was finally sworn in September after six months of a legal battle.
This was after the Court of Appeal in Calabar declared him in July as the winner of the December 5, 2020, Senatorial bye-election.
Hon. Justice Chioma removed Senator Stephen Odey and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a certificate of return to Agom.
Reports had it that Odey was to concede the position to his ally Governor Ben Ayade in 2023.
With his defection to the APC, Ayade is expected to contest for Cross River North Senatorial election on the ruling platform.
2023 Presidency: Osinbajo Can Not Bow To Any Politician
As the race for the 2023 presidency gathers momentum, a group supporting the candidacy of Professor Yemi Osinbajo has denied that the Vice President is no longer in the race.
The group, recognized as the Progressive Consolidation Group (PCG) said any narrative that Osinbajo has withdrawn from the 2023 race should be disregarded.
A statement by Aliyu Kurfi the chairman of the group said while the Vice President has not officially declared his intention for the 2023 presidency, rumors that he has stepped down from the race in favor of another politician should be disregarded.
Kurfi in his statement submitted that while Osinbajo remains committed to the success of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, he can’t be intimidated by anybody to drop his ambition.
“Our dear Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN remains loyal to his boss, President Buhari, he is much focused on the job and he has never been known for desperate politicking,” he said.
“Specifically, it must be stated that an outrageous lie that the VP attended any meeting to renounce 2023 presidential ambition or bow to any politician for same, remains an absolute falsehood; how can he renounce what he is even yet to accept or declare?”
“Every well-informed Nigerian knows that PCG is the very first 2023 support group to be formally recognized by our progressive party, APC and we have never sought to prevent or discourage others from following in our footsteps because VP Osinbajo will not subscribe to dirty political games that some typically desperate politicians play,” he added.
Meanwhile, all the 36 Speakers of the State Houses of Assembly have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to without delay, declare bandits as terrorists.
The Speakers who noted that the bandits are enemies of the nation made the call at the end of their meeting in Katsina State on Sunday.
The Chairman of the Conference, who is also Bauchi Speaker, Abubakar Suleiman made the mind of his colleagues on the matter known while speaking on the five-point communiqué issued at the end of their meeting.
Tinubu Snubbed Osinbajo In London – Source
The battle ahead of the 2023 general election is getting stronger daily as strong politicians express interest in running for presidency.
There had been speculations that there is a rift between the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, and the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo due to their wish to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Its no longer hidden that Osinbajo failed to visit Tinubu during his medical vacation in London and upon his return to the country.
The likes of President Buhari, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Umar Ganduje of Kano State, and many others had visited him in London.
A source that spoke with Thisday, revealed that the APC leader snubbed the vice president during his medical vacation in London.
“Essentially, Osinbajo arrived London to attend a conference and then, see Tinubu. As he arrived, he was supposed to see Tinubu the next morning but Tinubu left town by 6 a.m. the next morning to avoid seeing him. Even Adeboye (General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye) had arrived a day earlier and they planned to see Tinubu,” the source said.
The source noted Osinbajo has to make up his mind after his failed bid to see Tinubu.
“Tinubu has ramped up his campaign and Osinbajo also wants to be president and both cannot be president.
“So, now the die is cast for the battle of his life. He has not decided to run but a lot of people are mobilizing him to run.”
‘He Fought Corruption In Lagos’ – Faleke Backs Tinubu For 2023 Presidency
A member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke, has said Bola Tinubu fought corruption with technology and native intelligence during his time as Lagos State Governor.
The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the Green chamber revealed that while Tinubu was in office, he ensured that the state treasury was not looted.
Faleke said this at the unveiling of the ex-governors legacies and inauguration of state steering committees of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) on Saturday in Abuja.
He added that Tinubu is competent to lead the country to a greater height, adding that he will build on the legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Faleke, a two-time chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area in Lagos, said Tinubu left office in 2007, yet he remains popular to date because “he is focused, consistent and persistent”.
He said: “We have discovered a man who is ready to sacrifice all he has for his fatherland.
“This is a man who left office in 2007 yet remains popular till today because he is focused, consistent and persistent. He has been the central figure in Nigerian politics.
“A man who had comfortable control of the entire south-west and six solid governors yet threw everything into the alliance with President Muhammadu Buhari with 12 million votes but with one governor to build a new pan-Nigerian party of his dream.
“A man who ran a state that gave opportunities to citizens for appointive and elective positions on merit, without regard for their religion, ethnicity or class.
“The TSG was set up by all of us who believe that only Asiwaju bola Tinubu has the divine gift to continue the progressive strides of President Muhammadu Buhari and put to shame to the design of the enemies of Nigeria, who conspire to sponsor rebellion and insecurity to checkmate the anti-corruption war launched by the APC administration.
“In the same way, Asiwaju fought corruption with technology and native intelligence in Lagos state, we are convinced that he has all it takes to lead us to further the journey to a greater Nigeria already embarked upon under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.
“On behalf of the millions of supporters of Tinubu Support Group, we are calling on our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to formally announce his presidential aspiration.”
We Will Back You For 2023 Presidency – Kano Speaker Tells Tinubu
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has been endorsed for the 2023 Presidency by the Kano state chapter of the party.
Bennievibez reports that the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hamisu Chidari, gave the endorsement while speaking at the inauguration of the Tinubu Support Group and its state steering committees in Abuja on Saturday.
The Kano speaker revealed that Tinubu has been instrumental to the growth of APC in the country and should be rewarded for his dedication and loyalty to the party.
Chidari added that Kano will support Tinubu’s presidential ambition for his role in ensuring that President Muhammadu Buhari emerged as the winner of the 2015 presidential election.
The speaker, however, noted that Kano will give Tinubu at least 98 per cent votes of the delegates at the presidential primary election of the party.
He said: “My purpose is to kick-start the journey that will take us to the Villa by God’s grace with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the number one citizen of Nigeria.
“In Kano, being the state with the highest number of delegates, we have already decided and already concluded; we are set to give him at least 98 per cent of delegates in the primaries.
“Not only that, we are set as usual to give him the highest number of votes so that come May 29, 2023, we will be at the Eagle Square to swear him in as the President.
“All of us in the North-West are aware of the role he played in taking our son, President Muhammadu Buhari, to the Villa. So, we are going to reward him; we are going to pay him back. So, I have assured him of victory.
“Almost all the delegates from the North-West states are going to vote for him in the next primary elections.”
Meanwhile, the coordinators of the Tinubu Support Organisation in the South-West have been chosen by delegates across the five states of the region.
The new coordinators are Lanre Sodipo (Ogun State), Otunba Olusegun Fanibe (Osun State), Ezekiel Omotosho (Ekiti State), Akin Akingbesote (Ondo State) and Ambali Abiodun (Oyo State).
