    Bennievibez gathered that the United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan died aged 73 on Friday, state media said, after battling illness for many years.

    “The Ministry of Presidential Affairs condoles the people of the UAE and the Islamic world… on the passing of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Friday, May 13,” the official WAM news agency said.

    This online news platform understands that the ministry announced 40 days of mourning with flags at half-mast from Friday, with work paused in the public and private sectors for the first 3 daylights.

    Before his death, Sheikh Khalifa took over as the UAE’s second president in November 2004, succeeding his father as the 16th ruler of Abu Dhabi, the federation’s richest emirate.

    He has rarely been seen in public since 2014, when he had surgery following a stroke, although he has continued to issue rulings.

    WAM stated “The Ministry of Presidential Affairs mourns to the UAE people, Arab and Islamic nations and the world the death of President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who passed away on Friday, 13th May 2022, wishing Allah Almighty grant him eternal peace and the UAE people patience and solace.

    “The UAE will observe a forty-day national mourning with the flag flown at half-mast starting today, the ministry announced, adding that work will be suspended at all ministries, departments, and federal, local and private entities for three days.”
